About
Tanya Parent, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing tele-health and in-person care to children, teens, and adults across New York.
With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, Tanya works with individuals whose needs often feel more complex than standard care addresses—whether due to overlapping diagnoses, medication challenges, or co-occurring medical conditions. She is known for her ability to bring clarity and structure to situations that feel overwhelming or difficult to untangle.
Tanya has a particular focus on neurodivergent individuals, including ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, and intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as high-functioning adults managing anxiety, burnout, and executive functioning challenges. Many of her patients come to her after feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, or frustrated with prior treatment.
Her approach is calm, direct, and collaborative. She prioritizes clear communication, realistic treatment planning, and thoughtful medication management, with the goal of helping patients feel more stable, focused, and in control of their day-to-day lives.
Care may include medication management along with brief, supportive therapy when appropriate. Ongoing weekly therapy is not a primary service of the practice.
